A play-money prediction market for people building consumer brands, operated by Sugar Capital, Inc.

Users trade YES/NO shares on outcomes with hard deadlines: brand launches, M&A, retail wins, regulatory calls. Prices reflect collective belief. Sugar Capital uses the platform-wide accuracy as a signal product.

Hero Market is in invite-only closed beta. Access can be revoked at our discretion.

Signup requires a valid invite code tied to your email. We may grant, restrict, suspend, or remove access for any account at any time. Public surfaces of the site (the landing page, the guide, the policy pages) are accessible to anyone; everything else requires a signed account.

Sugar Points (SP) are not money. They cannot be redeemed, withdrawn, transferred, or converted into anything of value.

Hero Market is not a financial product, a casino, a betting exchange, or a money-transmitter business. You cannot deposit funds and you cannot withdraw funds. New accounts receive a fixed starting balance; balances are floored so a losing streak cannot eliminate your seat at the table.

One account per person, real email, real handle, you keep the credentials secure.

• One account per individual. No shared logins, no multi-accounting.
• You’re responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us at hello@heromarket.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Handles are first-come, first-served and may be reclaimed if they impersonate a person or brand without authorization.

Trade in good faith. Don’t harass other users. Don’t game the mechanic.

• No market manipulation. Coordinated trades designed to move prices without an underlying belief, wash trading, or schemes to capture the SP of other users in bad faith.
• No automated trading without permission. Programmatic traders need written approval. Scraping beyond the documented /api/v1 surface is also out.
• No abuse. Comments are first-class; harassment, hate speech, doxxing, or impersonation are grounds for immediate removal.
• No insider trading on non-public material information about real people or companies that you have a duty to protect. Play money or not, we don’t want the platform laundering NDA-protected information into a public price.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a license to display it.

When you post a comment, propose a market, or upload an avatar, you grant Sugar Capital a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share that content as part of the Hero Market product. You represent that you have the right to post it. We may moderate, hide, or remove content that violates these terms or that we judge harmful to the community.

Sugar Capital staff resolve markets according to the literal resolution criteria written on each market.

Resolution outcomes are YES, NO, or invalid (in which case all positions are refunded at cost basis). The resolution criteria + source on each market are the contract; we resolve to what the source actually says, not to what we wish it said. If a market’s wording turns out to be ambiguous in a way that prevents a clean resolution, we will void it.

Resolutions are final. Disputes can be raised by replying to the payout email or in the market’s comments; staff will review good-faith disputes but the platform is not a court of appeals.

The platform itself is ours. Your content is yours.

The Hero Market name, logo, design system, copy, and underlying software are the intellectual property of Sugar Capital, Inc. Aggregate, anonymized accuracy statistics derived from platform-wide trading are also ours and may be incorporated into Sugar Capital products.

Nothing on Hero Market is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice.

Market prices, leaderboard rankings, and forecaster calibration are signal artifacts, not recommendations. You are not buying securities, derivatives, or any other financial instrument. Do not make real-world investment decisions on the basis of a play-money prediction market.

We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. You can close your account anytime.

Suspensions for clear violations (manipulation, abuse, automation without permission) may be immediate and without notice. To close your own account, email hello@heromarket.com. On account closure, your personal identifiers are removed; see the retention section of the privacy policy for what stays.

Hero Market is provided as-is, with no warranties.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Market prices, leaderboard standings, and accuracy stats may be wrong, delayed, or temporarily unavailable. The platform is a beta product; expect rough edges.

To the extent allowed by law, Sugar Capital’s liability for your use of Hero Market is capped at $100 USD.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including (but not limited to) lost SP, lost reputational standing, missed market outcomes, downtime, or data loss. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits; in those places this section applies to the maximum extent permitted.

California law. Disputes resolved in San Francisco.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising under these terms will be heard exclusively in the state and federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

We update the date at the top when these change. Material changes go out via email to active accounts.

Continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
